i really liked your video because it incorporated lots of different clips. all of the parts really fit the american theme well. i don't know what the difference is between the re-edit and the original, but the final product is really polished. the whole video has a really nice pace and keeps the viewer's interest. it never gets boring because it's constantly alternating between the cartoon, fireworks, and the reagan speech.

The point that you were trying to convey was that the fourth of July is a big event in America, and it is something that we take both seriously and something that is fun. I think you did get your point across by showing the different sides, the speech about freedom and being american, and how people celebrate, with the people and fireworks. Were the purposes of the originals to emphasize the idea of being American and the idea of freedom? Your video was understanding, the contrast between cartoon and real life shows just how much we talk about being Americans and how big the fourth of July is in our country. I think your editing was done well, and the repetitions made your point stand out.

I had no idea of the original speech so I don't know if there is re-meaning in the speech, but I like the whole editing, and especially the idea of combining the real and the cartoon. The use of the firework clips worked very well with the whole theme of celebration and connected the two forms.
